Petty Driving Experience Back at LVMS
Petty Driving Experience Back at LVMS

The Richard Petty Driving Experience will again base its west-coast operations out of Las Vegas Motor Speedway next year.

The speedway and Richard Petty Driving Experience will offer more than 150 days of ride-alongs and driving experiences for race fans. This is an extension of an agreement that dates back to the speedway’s opening in 1996.

“We are extremely happy to be able to offer the world-wide leader in stock car ride and drive entertainment,” LVMS president Chris Powell said. “Thousands of people visit the speedway each year just to experience the high banks in an authentic stock car. And no name is more synonymous with racing than Richard Petty. The driving experience will continue to offer everything from individual riding and driving programs to large corporate groups throughout the year.”

Those high banks were the subject of controversy last month at the Speedway during Indy Car racing, when driver Dan Wheldon died during a major accident.

Las Vegas is the west coast home for the Charlotte, N.C.-based Richard Petty Driving Experience, but Petty holds more than 800 event days at more than 20 tracks nationwide.
