Blue Star Moms Collect Items for Troops Overseas

Blue Star Moms in southern Nevada spent Wednesday putting together care packages for our troops serving overseas.

The group, with the help of employees of Albertsons at Durango Drive and Flamingo Road, filled boxes with non-perishable food like granola bars, beef jerky, hard candy, oatmeal packets and tuna pouches. The care packages will be shipped to Las Vegas soldiers outside the country. Each box also has an encouraging note from the Blue Star Moms. It will take about ten days for the boxes to reach their destination.

"It is very rewarding to be able to support the troops and to know that were providing something for them that they may not have," said Sara Crusade Second Vice President of Blue Star Moms Southern Nevada Chapter.
