82 Nellis Tech. Sgts. Receive Promotion Selection

Nellis Air Force Base welcomed 82 new master sergeants after the newest selectees were announced May 23.

Election Rookies Vie for North Las Vegas Council Seat

Both of the teachers up for a Ward 1 North Las Vegas City Council seat — Jared Hardy and Isaac Barron — are election rookies. Early voting starts Wednesday.

Ex-Las Vegas Couple Take a Long Ride for the Troops

Charity is the goal for one former southern Nevada couple.

Former Las Vegans Alex and Helen LaVoie, who heard many noisy jets take off from Nellis Air Force Base during their 16 years here, are back in town making a little noise of their own — a bike ride across the U.S. to help fund the Wounded Warriors Project.

Nellis Youth Wins State Title

Reynoso,17, is the son of Master Sgt. Benjamin Reynoso, 99th Medical Support Squadron, and Griselea Reynoso.

Angel Reynoso, Nellis Air Force Base Youth of the Year, won the Boys and Girls Club's State Youth of the Year title for Nevada March 13.

Nellis Pilot First Reservist to Fly F-35

A reservist from the 706th Fighter Squadron recently became the first to fly the F-35 Lightning II, Air Force's newest aircraft.

Maj. Joseph Scholtz is an operational test pilot integrated into the active duty Air Force's 422nd Test and Evaluation Squadron, and currently Nellis AFB's only qualified F-35 pilot.
