Coroner IDs man shot, killed near Cheyenne and Nellis

LAS VEGAS -- The Clark County Coroner's Office has identified the man found dead in the street near Cheyenne Avenue and Nellis Boulevard as 24-year-old Dan E. Archie of North Las Vegas.

The cause of death was a gunshot wound to the abdomen and the manner of death is homicide.

According to Metro Police, at around 11:30 p.m. Thursday, officers were called to the area on a report that an injured man was lying on a sidewalk. When officers arrived, they found Archie dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

During their investigation, officers found that Archie had been shot at a nearby apartment complex and then walked to the area where he was found dead.

Police say Archie had been involved in an argument with three other people shortly before the shooting.

There is no word on suspects or motive, at this point.
