Nevada Air Guard Heading to East Coast | News
LAS VEGAS -- Members of the Nevada Air Guard have deployed to assist in Superstorm Sandy relief efforts.
The 152nd Airlift Wing departed Tuesday morning with a C-130 Hercules cargo aircraft from Reno to Moffett Field, Calif., to pick up a rescue boat, truck and several Guardian Angel Pararescue airmen from the 129th Rescue Wing of the California Air National Guard.
The plane will then depart later Tuesday for Charlotte, N.C. to assist in the relief efforts, according to the Nevada National Guard.
It is unknown how long the airmen will be helping out with the storm relief efforts.
When they are done on the east coast, about 100 airmen will then deploy to Kuwait by the end of this week.
