New Fitness Center Opens at Nellis

A new state-of-the-art fitness center has opened at Nellis Air Force Base.

The $25 million facility has an indoor track, a lap pool and weight-training facilities. It is open to members of the military and their families. It also has a special section for airmen recovering from injuries.

“We have free-motion equipment for our wounded warriors. Anyone, no matter what their disability is, is able to train and remain fit,” Staff Sgt. Jeffrey Cook, a fitness specialist at Nellis, said.

The new facility replaced a fitness center that was nearly 40 years old. There is also a nutrition center to make sure fighting forces are eating healthy.
