Drift Series Returning to Las Vegas Motor Speedway

Some of the best drivers in the world of drifting are returning to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway this month. The Formula Drift Series returns August 24 and 25 for the sixth and next-to-last round in the 2012 season.

Right now, 31-year-old Vaughn Gitten, Jr. is at the top of the standings in the series. The 2010 series champion has recently won events in New Jersey and Washington.

Qualifying rounds are set for Friday with eliminations on Saturday. General admission tickets are good for both days. This year there will be a new area called the Thrill Zone VIP. The area will include reserved seating, a cash bar, concession stand and private restrooms. Tickets for that section will be $50.

Advanced adult general admission tickets are $30. Advanced purchase tickets for children 6 to 14 years old are $10. Tickets on the day of the show will be $35 for adults and $15 for kids.  Kids under 5 years old can go to the event for free. Parking is also free. Go to lvms.com, to buy tickets in advance.
