Nellis Airmen Named Grand Marshals at Henderson Parade


Five airmen from Nellis Air Force Base will serve as grand marshals for Saturday’s Henderson Heritage Parade. The event honors the 59-year history of Henderson.

  • Recently returned from deployment to Afghanistan; Pararescue, 58th Rescue Squadron
  • Senior Airman Jonah Hendrickson
  • 432 WG Airman of the Year, 42nd Attack Squadron
  • Senior Airman Tyler Jones
  • Airman of the Year, ACC; Competing for 12 Outstanding Airmen of the Year, 99th Communications Squadron
  • Staff Sergeant Howard Schmitz
  • Returned from deployment to Afghanistan; Aircraft Crew Chief, 232nd Operations Squadron
  • Tech Sergeant Angela Pollard
  • Recently returned from deployment; 99th Medical Dental Operations Squadron

The airmen were selected by commanders at Nellis for their incredible service to the country and the community. The airmen will lead the parade procession through the Water Street District. The theme of this year’s celebration is “Magnesium to Magnificent”, which is a nod to Henderson’s beginnings as a supplier of magnesium to the war effort in World War II.

Besides the parade, there will be a car show and international festival. Here is the schedule of events:
