NHP Uses Spike Strips to End High-Speed Chase

NHP Uses Spike Strips to End High-Speed Chase

A pursuit Wednesday morning on southbound Interstate 15 in the northeast part of the valley ended when police deployed spike strips to stop the fleeing car.

A Nevada Highway Patrol officer initially attempted to pull over the car around 11:30 a.m. because it was traveling at 112 mph near mile marker 77. After initially beginning to stop, the driver sped off and fled down 15 for several miles. NHP used the spike strips near the Craig exit on the freeway and Metro caught the driver as he attempted to run from the disabled car.

The car did not strike any other vehicles and no injuries are reported. The vehicle is being towed at this time and traffic on 15 does not appear to be impacted. 8 News NOW will follow any further developments throughout the day.
