Walk/Run to Remember Planned for Wednesday | Community Spirit

Students at UNLV will honor military members and veterans in their annual Walk/Run to Remember Wednesday.

The run is being hosted by the UNLV Office of Veterans Services and the UNLV Student Veterans Organization. The run kicks off at 6 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m.

A special wreath ceremony to honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice will be held at 9 a.m. at the UNLV Veterans Memorial, which is near the flashlight on the academic mall.

According to UNLV, an estimated 1,100 student veterans and active-duty military members attend the school. The university also says nearly 800 of those students are getting tuition benefits through Post 9/11 G.I. Bill.
