Adopt a Military Family for the Holidays

There are a lot of ways to show the spirit of the holidays and give to those in need. Now, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10047 is offering another with military members in mind.

The post has set up at an Adopt-a-Military-Family tree. The tree features the names of military families, veterans, and Fallen Gold Star families that could use some help to have a happy holiday this year.

The public is encouraged to drop by the post at 4337 Las Vegas Boulevard, which is near Craig Road and Las Vegas Boulevard, to take a name from the tree. Those waiting to donate can also email adoptamilitaryfamily@hotmail.com and the family's information will be sent.

“You can help these struggling families have an amazing holiday celebration by adopting a veteran or an entire military family for Christmas! With the communities support, we can provide gifts for their children and a delicious holiday feast too,” said, Jon Fennych, Post Commander/Director National Military.

All gifts must be dropped off at the VFW Post 10047 by December 17. Right now, there are more than 100 military families waiting to be adopted.
