Wife sentencing due in Vegas slaying of US airman from Guam

A 34-year-old mother of four will learn whether she'll ever get a chance at parole when she's sentenced for conspiring to kill her husband, a U.S. Air Force service member from Guam, to collect his life insurance.

Michelle Antwanette Paet won't face the death penalty Thursday following her guilty plea in October to plotting with her ex-convict boyfriend in the December 2010 shooting death of Staff Sgt. Nathan Paet.

Clark County District Court Judge Douglas Herndon could sentence Michelle Paet to life in prison without parole or give her the possibility of release after 21 years.

Former boyfriend Michael Rodriguez and a co-defendant Corry Hawkins each face life in prison without parole on murder, conspiracy, burglary and weapon charges.

Their sentencings are postponed while they challenge elements of their cases.
