Motorcyclist critically injured following crash, near Charleston, Durango

LAS VEGAS (KLAS)-- Metro police are investigating a serious crash involving a motorcyclist Saturday.

Police responded to a multiple-vehicle crash shortly after 2 p.m near Charleston Blvd. and Durango Drive.

Police say the driver of a Dodge was trying to make a left turn when it collided with the driver of a Kawasaki Ninja. The impact forced the Dodge to rotate clockwise and crash into a Kia Sorento who was stopped at the entrance to the Chevron gas station.

The motorcyclist, a 29-year-old male, was transported to UMC Trauma by EMS, where he remains in serious condition. The driver, a 61-year-old female, of the Dodge sustained minor injuries. The driver, a 65-year-old female, of the Kia did not sustain any injuries from the collision

Charleston between Heavenly Hills and Durango was shut down for hours but it has since reopened.

This collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD Collision Investigation Section
