NELLIS AFB, Nev. --  A group of students from a local middle school got a special treat this week. Not only did they meet the Thunderbird team they also walked away with free school supplies.

The airmen at Nellis Air Force Base and the U.S. Air Force squadron teamed up and presented 30 children from Keller Middle School backpacks filled with school supplies. Captain Aaron Jelinek says investing in future generations is important to the country's success.

"Children are our future. They are going to be running this country some day so we want to make sure they have the best education possible," said Jelinek.

The kids were also given a tour of the team's hanger and watched a Thunderbird take off at the end of the presentation.
