Funeral Held for Nellis Airman Killed in Crash

A funeral was held Friday for the Air Force pilot killed in a crash last month.

Capt. Eric Ziegler was laid to rest in Moorhead, Minnesota. He died when the jet he was in crashed near Caliente. On Thursday friends and family gathered in the football field of West Fargo High School to honor 30-year-old Ziegler. The pilot was president of his 1999 class at the school and helped the football team win a state championship that year. People at the memorial service sent about 40 paper lanterns floating into the sky in memory of the airman.

An investigation is underway into what brought down the F-16 jet.
